Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement

Journal Muttashil committed to upholding the highest ethical standards for all parties involved in the publication process, including authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher.

EDITOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Accountability:

The editors of the Journal of Hadith Studies have full responsibility for determining which manuscripts are eligible for publication. Decisions are based on the policies and guidelines established by the journal’s editorial board. In making these decisions, editors may consult with other editors or reviewers.

Impartiality:

The evaluation and publication process is conducted objectively and fairly without regard to the authors’ personal background. Factors such as race, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, religion, nationality, political views, or philosophical beliefs shall not influence publication decisions.

Confidentiality:

Editors and all members of the editorial team must maintain the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts. Information regarding a manuscript may only be disclosed to relevant parties such as the corresponding author, reviewers, editorial advisors, and the publisher when necessary.

Disclosure and Conflict of Interest:

To prevent conflicts of interest, editors must not use unpublished materials for personal purposes. All information and ideas obtained during the peer-review process must be kept confidential. All parties involved in the selection and publication process must uphold fairness in peer review.

Involvement and Cooperation in Investigations:

Editors are responsible for maintaining publication integrity by issuing corrections or retractions when necessary and addressing suspected research and publication misconduct. Actions may also be taken against reviewers or editorial team members who violate ethical standards. If an ethical complaint arises regarding a manuscript under review or already published, the editor, together with the publisher, will take appropriate steps, including contacting the author, coordinating with relevant institutions, and, if necessary, publishing corrections, retractions, expressions of concern, or other relevant notices. Alleged ethical violations must be addressed even if discovered long after publication.

REVIEWER RESPONSIBILITIES

Contribution to Editorial Decisions:

The peer-review process plays an essential role in assisting editors in determining whether an article is suitable for publication. Constructive interaction and communication between reviewers and authors can also improve the quality of the manuscript.

Timeliness:

Reviewers who feel unqualified to evaluate a manuscript must promptly notify the editor and withdraw from the review process.

Confidentiality:

Manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents. Reviewers must not share or discuss the manuscript with others without the editor’s permission.

Standards of Objectivity:

Reviews must be conducted professionally and objectively. Personal criticism of the author is inappropriate. Reviewers should provide clear evaluations supported by reasoned arguments.

Acknowledgment of Sources:

Reviewers must identify relevant literature that has not been cited by the author. If an idea, finding, or argument has been previously published, it must be properly cited. Reviewers should also inform the editor of any substantial similarity between the manuscript under review and other known works.

Disclosure and Conflict of Interest:

Information or ideas obtained through peer review must remain confidential and must not be used for personal advantage. Reviewers should not evaluate manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest arising from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships with the authors, institutions, or related parties.

AUTHOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting Standards:

Authors must present research results transparently, honestly, and accurately without fabrication, falsification, or inappropriate data manipulation. Research methods must be described clearly and in sufficient detail to allow verification by other researchers.

Originality, Plagiarism, and Acknowledgment of Sources:

Submitted manuscripts must be original, contain novelty, be free from plagiarism, and must not have been published elsewhere. False or misleading statements constitute unethical behavior. Proper acknowledgment must be given for all ideas, data, or quotations taken from other sources.

Data Access and Retention:

If necessary, authors must be prepared to provide raw data for editorial review and retain such data for a reasonable period after publication.

Ethical Compliance:

Authors may only submit work conducted in accordance with research ethics principles and applicable legal regulations.

Disclosure and Conflict of Interest:

All potential conflicts of interest, whether financial or non-financial, that may influence the results or interpretation of the research must be disclosed. All sources of research funding must be stated.

Authorship:

Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made significant contributions to the conception, design, execution, analysis, or writing of the research. All substantial contributors must be listed as co-authors. The corresponding author is responsible for ensuring that all authors have reviewed and approved the final version of the manuscript and agreed to its submission for publication.

Multiple or Concurrent Publication:

Authors must not submit the same or substantially similar manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously. Such practice constitutes unethical publication behavior.

Fundamental Errors in Published Works:

If authors discover significant errors or inaccuracies in their published work, they are obliged to promptly notify the editor and cooperate in correcting or retracting the manuscript.
