About the Journal

Literasi: Jurnal Madrasah dan Pesantren (LJMP) is a peer-reviewed academic journal dedicated to advancing scholarly discourse and research on madrasah, pesantren, and Islamic teaching and learning. The journal provides a focused platform for researchers, academics, and educational practitioners to examine the development, practices, and contemporary challenges of Islamic educational institutions and learning.

LJMP specifically publishes original research and scholarly studies within three interconnected areas: Madrasah Studies, Pesantren Studies, and Islamic Curriculum, Pedagogy & Learning. Madrasah Studies covers institutional development, educational practices, leadership, culture, and contemporary issues within madrasah education. Pesantren Studies focuses on pesantren as an Islamic educational institution, including its traditions, learning practices, educational culture, institutional transformation, and responses to social change. Islamic Curriculum, Pedagogy & Learning addresses curriculum development, teaching and learning processes, pedagogical approaches, learning strategies, and educational innovation within madrasah and pesantren contexts.

Through this focused scope, LJMP seeks to strengthen theoretically informed and empirically grounded scholarship on madrasah and pesantren while encouraging critical engagement with the changing pedagogical and institutional realities of Islamic education.
